Monthly Recap: In May, Josh Shapiro Kicked Off General Election, Campaigned All Across Pennsylvania

PENNSYLVANIAThroughout the month of May, Attorney General Josh Shapiro traveled all across Pennsylvania and met thousands of voters as he officially became the Democratic nominee and kicked off the general election. Josh visited 21 different counties as he continued building a broad coalition of Republicans, Democrats, and Independents to win in November. All across the Commonwealth, Josh discussed how he will cut costs, fix schools, keep our communities safe, and defend Pennsylvanians’ freedoms as Governor.

In May, Josh Shapiro:

  • Visited 21 different counties and met with thousands of Pennsylvanians.
  • Took hundreds of pictures with supporters.
  • Celebrated his 25th anniversary with Lori!
  • Spoke with and answered questions from 83 different reporters and radio hosts.
  • Kicked off the general election in Johnstown.

Throughout the past month, Josh visited communities in every corner of the Commonwealth. He met with supporters everywhere from Lycoming, Union, and Northumberland to Crawford, Mercer, and Somerset counties. Shapiro also gave his general election kickoff speech in Johnstown last week – where he outlined his top priorities and pledged to always defend Pennsylvanians’ freedoms.

The Shapiro for Pennsylvania campaign also celebrated Austin Davis’ resounding victory in the primary for Lieutenant Governor on May 17th. This critical victory was another show of the strength and unity behind the Shapiro-Davis ticket – the ticket that will win in November and deliver real results for our Commonwealth.

Finally, Josh began communicating on television in May, talking about how his faith and family motivate his public service in “Banana Split,” and highlighting his record of taking on predatory lenders in “Alexis.”

From showing up and bringing people together in counties that have often been left behind and ignored by politicians in both parties, to communicating a positive message on television more than six months before Election Day, Josh Shapiro spent the month of May continuing to build a broad coalition to win all across the Commonwealth.
